Amber's Aces - My Street Team

I've started a Street Team!

What is a Street Team? Well, it's a group of amazing people who help spread the word and promote through interactions with each other and all of their friends and fans. In exchange, they have first dibs on a number of things (books, stories, giveaways, etc.)

I debated quite some time about starting this, but finally decided to do it. While the main purpose is to provide an opportunity for promotion and spreading the word about my works, I also hope to utilize this tool to support other indie authors as well. Whether it’s new releases, giveaways, or other posts, I think the world is a better place when we all help each other out.

For that reason, this group will be open to anyone who wants to participate - you don’t have to be a blogger or an author…just a lover of words who’s willing to be a part of this with some connection to a social media outlet.

So what will you get for being one of the Aces? I’m glad you asked! Aside from my everlasting gratitude, here’s what you can expect:

1. ARCs of all new releases.
2. Monthly SWAG giveaways.
3. Character naming opportunities.
4. An exclusive button for your site so everyone knows you’re an Ace!
5. Insider information about new books, deleted scenes, or excerpts that you can post.
6. Acknowledgement in all future books (and there will be many more!)
7. And did I mention SWAG?

Interested in being a part of the team? Please send your request HERE to the closed Facebook group (only members can see our posts). Once approved, you’ll be able to download the official team button and be on your way to being an Ace!

Of course, common courtesy rules apply. No bad-mouthing each other, no fighting, you know. But I don’t think I’ll have to worry about that! The amount of participation is up to you and I will find a way to reward all of the super hard workers.

Thank you for your interest in Amber’s Aces and I hope to welcome you to the team very soon!

Syrenka Swag and Such

So, I sat down today to work on two manuscripts for work (not so much fun) but ended up working on my new fiction book instead (lots of fun). Then partway through that, I got distracted by The Syrenka Series and switched gears.

I created some character buttons a couple of months ago, but I wasn't happy with the images - the guys weren't represented as well as I wanted them to be. So I searched around and found photos that better represent my syrenka guys, and made new buttons. Oh, and I also made a bookmark!

Fun stuff! Now back to my dystopian twisted world where things are getting scarier by the minute... Can't wait to share that with you all!

My Friday Review: Cold Blood

Title: Cold Blood (Book Two of The Dirty Blood Series)
Author: Heather Hildenbrand
My Rating: 4 conch
Source:Purchased
Buy At: Amazon

Summary from Goodreads: Wood Point Academy is not at all what I expected. For one thing, it looks like a cross between military school and Buckingham Palace. Everyone stares, the floors shine so bright you can see your reflection in them from a mile away, and no one smiles. Unless they're kicking your butt in the process.

At least I've got plenty to take my mind off the fact that my psycho cousin, Miles De'Luca, keeps calling and declaring his love and promising to come for me just as soon as he's destroyed anyone standing in our way. Wes isn't going to like that idea. So between Miles, Wood Point's evil welcoming committee, and the drill sergeant hottie trainer from hell, I just keep asking myself, how did I end up here?

The Review: In this book, we get to meet a whole new group of characters as Tara is shipped off to boarding school. And this isn't just any boarding school, but a place where she has to learn who she is...and fast. We don't get to see much of Wes in this one, and it made it hard for me to believe their undying love for each other. Especially with how quickly she is attracted to Alex. But that being said...I think I like Alex better. I guess I'll have to see where it all goes in the next book (which I'm reading now!). There is an interesting scientific twist with hybrids and I found that intriguing. Although at first I missed the characters from Dirty Blood, I grew to like these new ones and I'm anxious to see how they all connect. Yes, the wolves still talked but I think I'm getting over that now!

The Good: New well-developed characters that I hope will continue on with the story.

The Issue: The love triangle...not sure how I feel about it yet.

The Rating: 4 conch. Solid second book leaving me wanting more.
